Privacy Notice & Competition Rules

Eligibility

  • Open to photographers aged 8 to 18 on 31 December 2025. This means entrants must have been born between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2017.
  • Entrants must live in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
  • Entrants under 16 require approval from a parent or guardian before their entry can be submitted.

Who is responsible for your information

Photo Museum Ireland runs this competition and decides how entrants' information is used. CameraComp (Bailey Digital Solutions Pty Ltd) provides the competition platform and processes information on the organiser's behalf.

What we collect

Your name and email address; your month and year of birth (never your full date of birth); where you live, as a region only; your photographs and their titles; and, if you are under 16, the name and email address of your parent or guardian.

When an authorisation or acceptance is recorded, the time, network address and browser details are kept with it as evidence of the consent given.

Why we collect it

To run the competition: receiving entries, placing them in the right age group, judging, results and awards.

Because Ireland's digital age of consent is 16 (Article 8 of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), an entrant under 16 needs a parent or guardian's authorisation before their entry can be submitted. The authorisation, and any withdrawal of it, is kept as the competition's consent record.

Who sees your information

Judges see photographs and their titles, never ages or contact details. Published results credit entrants under the credit policy stated on the entry page.

The platform uses service providers to operate: email delivery (Postmark, processed in the United States under a data-processing agreement and standard contractual clauses), and image storage and database hosting located in the European Union.

How long we keep it

A guardian authorisation request that is never completed is deleted after 7 days, along with the details given for it. If a guardian withdraws their authorisation and does not restore it, the entry and its photographs are deleted after 30 days; the consent record itself is retained.

Entries in the competition are kept for the competition and its exhibition cycle.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by contacting niamh@photomuseumireland.ie. A parent or guardian can withdraw their authorisation at any time using the link in their email, which takes the entry out of the competition.
